VIGLACERA DOUBLE CHARGE TILES – THE TOP CHOICE FOR PUBLIC PROJECTS

In high-investment public infrastructure projects, double charge tiles are regarded as the perfect tiling solution. Not only do they offer a luxurious, glossy finish, but they also meet the demanding technical and aesthetic standards required for public spaces – making them a choice that cannot be overlooked.

Are Double Charge Tiles Worth It?

Double charge tiles, also known as double-loaded granite tiles, belong to the granite tile family – the most premium category in the current tile market. Manufactured from high-purity imported materials such as clay, kaolin, and feldspar, these tiles feature a deeply polished, flawless surface.

Viglacera’s Double Charge Tiles

Unlike standard porcelain tiles, Viglacera’s double charge tiles consist of two visibly distinct layers of tightly compressed tile body. This dual-layer structure results in tiles with a thickness exceeding 10mm and a superior surface quality, even compared to the already high-performing porcelain category. This is precisely why many developers prefer double charge tiles for public areas that demand both aesthetics and durability.

The tile’s name “double charge” stems from this unique two-layer composition.

Advanced Manufacturing Process

Viglacera’s double charge tiles are produced using an advanced dry powder spreading process – a cutting-edge technique that does not require glaze spraying:

For the surface layer, three to four different colors of powder are mixed, then dispersed by a programmed machine to form the desired pattern. At Viglacera, the powder components are of extremely high purity and fine grain, minimizing the need for additional pigments. After compression, the tile body is densely packed with no air pockets – enhancing its water resistance beyond even full-body tiles currently on the market.

The second step involves layering the 6–7mm thick base body.

Both layers are then compressed and shaped into the green body tile and fired at 1220°C using modern Sacmi technology, achieving a perfectly bonded tile.

After firing, the tile undergoes a meticulous four-step polishing process. Following three standard polishing stages, the tile is coated with a nano layer that seals micro-imperfections, then polished one final time. This final step is key to achieving a smooth, glass-like finish with a gloss level exceeding 90 GU.

Unlike glazed ceramic or printed tiles, double charge tiles achieve their pattern and coloration from within the tile body – not via surface printing or glaze application. The result is a homogenous tile with consistent color and pattern from surface to core.

A Perfect Surface Finish with Exceptional Quality

Double charge highly advantages

Double charge tiles by Viglacera offer a surface hardness of up to 7 on the Mohs scale, flexural strength of 400–500kg/m², water absorption below 0.03%, and a glossy finish exceeding 90 GU – outclassing most granite tile types in the market.

Thanks to their compact structure with no micropores or capillaries, these tiles are virtually non-absorbent. They resist acid corrosion and have a maximum stain resistance rating of 5.

In addition to their exceptional wear resistance (up to 70mm³), these tiles offer one distinct advantage – surface renewability. After prolonged use, they can be polished to restore their original appearance, eliminating the need for replacement.

Viglacera double charge tiles come in a variety of sizes, suitable for different spatial applications.

With a palette of neutral, modern tones and patterns such as cloud veins, linear textures, stone veins, and shell-like swirls, these tiles cater to diverse aesthetic preferences.

Why Are Double Charge Tiles Ideal for Public Projects?

Exceptional Strength and Durability

Public spaces such as shopping malls, airports, and train stations experience extremely high foot traffic. In certain locations exposed to outdoor conditions – rain, harsh sunlight – tiling materials must demonstrate superior strength, durability, and water resistance.

Real-world application of Viglacera Double Charge tiles in hospitals

To meet such demanding technical requirements, Viglacera’s premium double charge tiles are the ideal solution. Their resistance to corrosive acids also makes them suitable for sensitive environments such as hospitals and laboratories.

Scratch and Deep Wear Resistance

As fully homogenous products, these tiles are composed of a thick, sturdy base and a dense, wear-resistant surface layer – making them nearly impervious to deep scratches and wear. Even in areas with moving equipment or frequent furniture shifts, the surface of double charge tiles remains unmarred

Specialized for high-traffic commercial areas and display zones

This homogeneity also gives double charge tiles a significant advantage in corridors, elevators, and high-traffic areas. Conventional glazed tiles may wear down in the center over time, revealing the uneven underbody while the edges remain intact – leading to an unsightly, inconsistent appearance. With double charge tiles, this issue is virtually eliminated.

Mirror-Like Shine for Grand Visual Impact

Public projects often involve significant investment, where aesthetics are just as important as functionality. Viglacera’s double charge tiles, with their ultra-flat, mirror-like finish and gloss level above 90 GU, create bright, elegant spaces that exude luxury. As such, they are frequently used in upscale public buildings such as shopping malls, luxury hotels, high-end restaurants, and even premium residential properties.

Elevating architectural sophistication

The nano-coated surface seals even the finest pores, preventing dust and water from penetrating. This not only avoids discoloration and staining but also keeps the surface looking pristine over time. The visual appeal of the building is therefore preserved for the long term.

Thanks to the nano polishing, the tiles exhibit a lotus-leaf effect – repelling water and making cleaning effortless, which enhances their overall performance and longevity.

Large Tile Format

Viglacera produces double charge tiles in a range of sizes, with 60x60cm and 80x80cm being the most popular for spacious public areas. Large-format tiles facilitate faster installation and minimize grout lines, which enhances both practicality and aesthetics. They also create an expansive visual effect, making the space feel more open and airy.

The Ultimate Tiling Solution for Public Projects

With outstanding physical properties and proven real-world performance, Viglacera’s double charge tiles stand out as one of the most comprehensive tiling solutions for public infrastructure. Currently, there are few brands in Vietnam capable of producing double charge tiles that meet international standards.

Viglacera proudly leads this segment with superior quality, offering a compelling choice for any developer or investor seeking long-term performance and aesthetics in public architectural projects.
