Focusing on Green and Smart Industrial Park Models

Reflecting on the achievements of Viglacera over its 51-year history, Minister Tran Hong Minh emphasized that the Corporation’s accomplishments affirm its superior capacity in production, business, and investment. He noted that these results clearly reflect Viglacera’s visionary leadership and strategic direction.

"Throughout its history, Viglacera has excellently fulfilled the missions entrusted to it by the Party and the State," the Minister stated. "In the coming phase, the Corporation must focus on elevating its brand prestige even further while ensuring the well-being of its employees."

To build upon this momentum, Minister Tran Hong Minh outlined six key mandates for Viglacera:

1. Strict Compliance & Excellence: Strictly adhere to State policies and strive to exceed the business and investment targets approved by the General Meeting of Shareholders.

2. Expanding Industrial Infrastructure: Leverage existing prestige and experience to expand industrial park (IP) projects nationwide. The focus should be on developing "green and smart" IP models to attract large-scale Foreign Direct Investment (FDI).

1. Social Housing Leadership: Accelerate investment in social and worker housing in synchronization with existing and new industrial hubs.

2. Strategic Restructuring: Effectively implement the "New Phase Development Strategy." This includes reviewing and divesting from inefficient investments to concentrate resources on core business sectors.

3. Green Innovation & Digitalization: Continuously innovate building materials toward green trends, resource efficiency, and low emissions. Viglacera is expected to lead in digital transformation and research into new technologies that contribute to renewable energy and Vietnam’s COP26 environmental commitments.

4. International Presence: Ensure the timely execution and efficient operation of projects in Cuba, including the two sanitary ware and tile factories and the Vimariel Industrial Park infrastructure.

Regarding Viglacera’s proposals, the Minister tasked relevant departments with considering the retention of a portion of profits to increase charter capital for social housing projects. He also supported the integration of Viglacera products into national key projects such as airports, stations, and expressways.

A Market Leader in Building Materials and Real Estate

Earlier in the session, Mr. Tran Ngoc Anh, Deputy General Director of Viglacera, reported on the Corporation’s robust business performance. With 41 subsidiaries and affiliates and total assets reaching 16,755 billion VND, Viglacera maintains a dominant position in the market.

• Real Estate: Viglacera operates 17 industrial parks domestically and abroad, covering over 5,000 hectares and attracting $20 billion in FDI from global high-tech and electronics giants. The Corporation provides jobs for over 6,000 direct employees and supports approximately 200,000 workers within its IPs.

• Social Housing: A pioneer in the field, Viglacera has successfully developed over 17,000 apartments, including 6,700 units specifically for workers.

• Manufacturing Excellence: Viglacera ranks among the top 20 largest tile manufacturers and the top 27 largest sanitary ware manufacturers in the world. Between 2020 and 2024, the Corporation recorded a total profit of 7,925 billion VND, contributing 4,708 billion VND to the state budget.

The Ministry of Construction Pledges Continued Support

Deputy Minister Nguyen Viet Hung addressed specific petitions, reaffirming that the Ministry would remain a steady partner in Viglacera’s journey. He advised the Corporation to maintain reasonable dividends, enhance market capitalization, and optimize data management across its production and real estate portfolios.

"With its rich tradition and a strong commitment to innovation, Viglacera will continue to assert its position as a flagship of the construction industry," the Deputy Minister concluded.

During the visit to Viglacera’s Traditional Gallery, Minister Tran Hong Minh signed a commemorative Vasta Stone sintered slab—a product that holds the record for the largest sintered stone produced in Vietnam. He praised Viglacera’s shift toward high-tech, sustainable industrial ecosystems, noting that the State would continue to refine legal frameworks and manage imports strictly to protect reputable domestic manufacturers.
